Associate Dean for Academic Affairs – Dakota College at Bottineau

Full-time, 12-month Position

Job Description:   The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs performs work that is directly related to the mission of the institution while supporting the success of faculty, staff, and students. The incumbent functions as part of the institutional leadership team, augments college communication, and provides a vision for all areas of direct oversight.


  • Monitor all aspects of the institutional and specialized accreditation processes.
  • In collaboration with Faculty, administer and evaluate the institutional curriculum.
  • In collaboration with the Associate Dean for Extended Learning, supervise and evaluate full-time and part-time faculty.
  • Participate on college committees and represent the institution at the state level.

Required Qualifications:  Master’s degree and strong organizational skills, the ability to work in a detail-oriented atmosphere, excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people.  Required work experience is at least two years of administrative experience in a higher education setting, at least two years of teaching experience, preferably at the college level, and at least two years of supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:  1) Doctorate degree and ten or more years of experience in a variety of post-secondary academic services.

Salary:  Commensurate with education and experience
