Property Tax Exemption: The Bottineau City Council can
approve a five year property tax exemption for new and
expanding business.

Financial Assistance

  • MSU - Bottineau is available to assist you in any of your
    custom training needs.
  • Work Force 2000 - customized worker retraining and upgrade
  • North Dakota New Job Training Program - for new or
    expanding ND businesses
  • The JTPA (Job Training Partnership Act) has available an
    on-the-job training and course training program that is
    available to businesses.

Bottineau 500 Fund

  • Marketing and feasibility studies
  • Hire professional staff
    • Marketing consultant
    • Architect and engineering fees
    • Staff hired for retention and expansion efforts
  • Subsidize rent or utilities for business (incubator projects)
  • Feasibility studies
  • Business plans
  • Patenting process, with a request to the firm to make a
    donation to the Bottineau Economic Development
    Corporation 3 to 5 years after the firm has been in existence
  • Sponsor seminars, workshops, and meetings
  • "Hard" costs associated with Loan Pool (e.g. attorney's fees,
    filing fees, processing fees, appraisal costs, fees, etc.)
  • Buy, lease, and sell buildings, real estate, and equipment
  • Tourism planning - brochures, videos, etc.
  • Interest buydowns
  • Loans (low interest)
  • Matching funds for grants
  • Last resort for use of Bottineau-500 funds:
    • Costs associated with sewer and water facilities
    • Electrical service and utility hookups
    • Service fees on loans associated with Loan Pool
  • Projects will be evaluated on an individual basis
